Myron (Mike) Myers

Myron (Mike) Myers, 90, of Beach City, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Amherst Meadows, Massillon. He was born at Stanwood, the son of late Daniel and Mary Myers. Mike was drafted into service for his country and became a member of the 101st Airborne division, participating in a number of WWII European campaigns. After his military duty Mike worked for 42 years as a clerk at Norfolk and Western Railroad in Brewster. His free time was spent working on his farm and taking care of his beloved horses. He also enjoyed being a member of the Navarre VFW, Beach City American Legion and the Wilmot United Methodist Church. He is survived by his beloved wife, Maxine (Dunn) Myers; a daughter, Bonnie (Gordon) Hewitt of AZ.; two grandchildren, Scot (Criselda) Hewitt of CA, and Kevin (Lori) Hewitt of Massillon; two great grandchildren, Hailey and Blaine Hewitt. Mike was preceded by one infant brother and two sisters, Pearl and Mabel. A celebration of Mike’s life will be held Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 11:00a.m. in Lantzer Funeral home, Beach City with Pastor Scott Simmons officiating. Inurnment will be at South Lawn Cemetery, Beach City. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Christian Children’s Home of Ohio, 2685 Armstrong Rd. Wooster, OH 44691.
