M. Joan Miller, 87 a resident of Hennis Care Centre of Bolivar, formerly of Strasburg, Beach City and California, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014 following a period of declining health. She was born at Beach City, the daughter of Walter J. and Viola Gardner Miller. She retired as branch secretary at Wells Fargo, California. Joan was a member of First Lutheran Church, Beach City, She is survived by 1 brother and sister in law, John J. (Barbara) Miller of Dysart, Iowa; 1 sister, Dorothy Slayman of Beach City several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by 1 brother, George A. Miller. A celebration of Joan’s life will be held, Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in Lantzer Funeral Home, Beach City. Interment will be made in South Lawn Cemetery, Beach City. Friends may call Friday, Feb. 14 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
