David Earl Oyster

David Earl Oyster 79, of Beach City, passed away at his residence, Friday, Jan. 6, 2017 following a brief illness. He was born At Louisville, Oh., the son of the late Ulysess Earl and Mary Catherine Porter Oyster and had been a Beach City area resident 51 years. Dave retired from Fresh Mark formerly Sugardale at Canton after 47 years. He is survived by his wife JoAnn Alloway Oyster whom he married Aug. 16, 1958; 2 daughters and sons in law, Michelle (Rick) Slayman and Jolene ‘Jo’ (Scott) Gerber both of Beach City; son, Jeffrey Oyster of Westmoreland, Tn.; 4 granddaughters, Catherine Rose, Emily, Abby and Paige. He was preceded by 1 brother George Geran. Dave was most know for his love of reading. He was also a Civil War enthusiast and an avid supporter of the NRA and the Wounded Warrior Project. He was on the Board of Directors for the Fresh Mark Credit Union for many years. He enjoyed going to Buehler’s for breakfast every Sunday morning with his beloved wife, JoAnn. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for memorial donations to be made to the Dover Public Library “Time to Check Out Your Future” Capital Campaign. Friends may call Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lantzer Funeral Home, Beach City. A family graveside service will be held Tuesday.
