Pearl Lawanda Haas, 82 a resident at Brewster Parke Nursing Home, passed away, Sunday, October 7, 2012 at Affinity Hospital, Massillon following a period of declining health. She was born at Cowen, W. Va., the daughter of the late John and Susan (Seabolt) Smith. Pearl was a homemaker and member of St. Pauls United Church of Christ at Navarre. She was preceded by her husband John F. Haas in 1974; 5 brothers and 5 sisters. Surviving children are, Jack (Denise) Haas of Glendora, Calif., Connie (Joseph) Luthi of Massillon, Eric (Kathy) Haas of Bolivar; 1 brother, Kendall Smith of Navarre; 5 grandchildren, Edward, Jason and Michael Ecenbarger, Kimberly and Kyle Haas and 3 great grandchildren. Services will be held Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in Lantzer Funeral Home, Beach City with Pastor James Simone officiating. Inurnment will be made in W. Va. Friends may call Wednesday from 12 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials in Pearls name may be made to the Fairless Food Cupboard.
