Dorothy Ann (Thompson) Abraham, a good and faithful servant, died peacefully Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at the age of 87 and entered her heavenly home. She was born December 15, 1933 to Harold and Alice Thompson. Dorothy lived her entire life in Navarre, Ohio. Dorothy graduated from Navarre High School and Aultman School of nursing with her Registered Nurse degree and worked many years in that capacity. She continued to use her nursing skills, even after she retired, for the rest of her life. Dorothy spent her time caring for her family and always placed them ahead of her own needs. She was a wonderful mother and taught her children and grandchildren well, always sharing her humor that was a guarded secret of hers. Above all, Dorothy was faithful, reading her bible every night, always relying on prayer and her faith to live her life. Even it it led her to eat big “glasses” full of ice cream at night when she thought no one was watching while doing her crossword puzzles. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Fred Abraham, a granddaughter Rachel Bratcher, a great grandson Aden Abraham and a sister Nancy Fortner. Dorothy will be greatly missed by her family and is survived by her children, Dris (Melissa Brown) Abraham of Marathon, Texas, Diane (Greg) Arney, Christine (Kevin) Bratcher of Navarre, Ohio, Cara (Scott) Silvestri of Marietta, Ohio and Fred (Jana) Abraham of Great Falls, Montana. Also survived by eight grandchildren, Nicholas (Anna) Abraham, Emily (James) Machuga, Cody (Jessica) Arney, Neal Silvestri, Leah (Ryan) Tucker, Valerie Arney, Aaron Silvestri, and Bryce Arney. Four greatgrandchildren, Nora Abraham, Deacon and Abigail Machuga and Adelynn Arney. One brother David (Peggy) Thompson. “You should be known for the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God.” 1 Peter 3:4 Private services will be held for immediate family only with Pastor Nicholas Abraham officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Otterbein United Methodist Church, 6025 Shepler Church Ave., SW, Navarre, Oh 44662. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Massillon Danbury who took such good care of Mom for the past 3 1/2 years.
